The Open Studio Sessions are exactly what you need to finally shift out of that busy, noisy headspace—and into something more grounded, more connected, and more satisfying than you expected.

Why Is It Only $45
To be honest—it shouldn’t be. It's normally $140 an evening workshop

But here’s the reason:

I know most beginners are nervous to try clay and just want to come and do their own projects, their own thing... and I want to make that first step as easy and welcoming as possible.

This Special Price for $45 is my way of helping you try pottery —without hesitation, without any risk, and without needing to “be arty”

I'm so confident you're going to simply love this workshop, I'm even offering a 100% Money Back Guarantee, on the 1st night, so you have nothing to lose and everything to gain by attending this intimate, friendly open studio time.

This community is totally life-changing and supportive, so why not give yourself a gift and invest in yourself, as these skills & memories will stay with you for a lifetime.

Hi I'm Ness,

I understand the need to carve out some 'me time' for yourself & do something relaxing...

That’s exactly why I created Tas Pottery Workshops. A supportive community of people who genuinely get it. Whether you're a seasoned potter or just discovering clay, you'll find great people here.

I spent 24+ years teaching beginners and studying under 3 Master Potters across the globe…Testing, refining, and simplifying the process—so beginners like you can feel calm, in control, and quietly proud of what you make in the pottery studio.

Imagine the joy on your family and friends' faces when they see your handmade creations—

This is your self-care time.

Regards

Frequently Asked Questions

I've never done pottery before. What if I mess up?

There are no mistakes in pottery—just happy accidents. Everything in the pottery can be squished down and started fresh. That's actually part of the relaxation.

 Will I do it wrong?

Absolutely not. Most of our open studio visitors are complete beginners. You'll arrive, we'll show you the basics, and you'll spend the rest of the time creating at your own pace. It's your space.

How long does it take to make something?

Some people finish a piece, some experiment with different things. You decide what feels right for you. Whether you're working on an ongoing project, experimenting with new techniques, or just want to play with clay and get out of the house, our studio is your space. These sessions are designed for potters of all experience levels, especially beginners who want a creative, supportive environment to work together.

Do I need to bring anything?

Yes! Clay! We provide all tools, pottery equipment including wheels, extruder and slab roller but only some clay is available.

We sell Stoneware 10 at $30 a bag or $15 for a 1/2 bag.
Let me know if you need some clay as supplies can run out.

NOTE: Its cheaper if you buy it directly from Derwent Ceramics and YES!! Stoneware 10 is a great starter clay that I recommend.

How long does it go for?

Open session is every Thursday during school term (6-8pm) —plenty of time to learn, create, and unwind without rushing.

Can I come alone or bring a friend?

Absolutely! Many people come solo, and some bring a friend or loved one. It’s a great experience either way—welcoming, social, and relaxing.

The workshop is for anyone who wants to relax, create something beautiful, and take a break from the busyness of life. Maybe you’re looking for a new hobby, a mindful experience, or just something fun to do—you’ll feel right at home.

Why is the open studio only $45 a night?

This is a special introductory price to make your pottery experience easy to say yes to.

You can pay in full ($450 a term) or pay just $45 a night BUT if we are booked out - sorry I can't let you in.

Either way, you’ll leave with beautiful handmade pieces of pottery, a supportive community and a wonderful experience. It’s incredible value, and spots fill fast because of it.

What if I can’t make it after I book?

We get it—life happens. You can transfer your spot to a friend or contact us to discuss a credit for another workshop if you cancel within 14 days of the workshop. No refunds (sorry) within 14 days of the start date. See our full payment terms below. Just let us know as soon as you can via:
